Who this suitsCouples and first-time visitors — especially anyone whose last holiday felt like a checklist.
Airport pickup at any hour. In the late afternoon we walk the centre slowly — Republic Square, the Cascade for the view — and finish with a relaxed evening food walk: small plates, a wine bar on Saryan Street, and the singing fountains after dark. Nothing before then; arrival days should not have schedules.
The classic day, done at half speed. Garni temple before the coaches, a walk down to the Symphony of Stones basalt columns, then a long lavash-baking lunch at a village house — you roll, you bake, you eat it hot. Geghard in the mid-afternoon when the morning crowds have thinned, with time to stand under the dome and listen.
Up the slope of Aragats: the Alphabet Monument, the observatory village of Byurakan, and Amberd fortress at 2,300 metres. Dinner at a village table below the mountain, and — if the sky is clear — stargazing afterwards with someone who can walk you across it. If it is cloudy we say so at breakfast and linger over dinner instead.
North to the lake: Sevanavank on its headland, then through the tunnel into the Dilijan forest for Haghartsin and a slow walk down Sharambeyan Street. Back to Yerevan or straight to the airport, timed to your flight.
